The Veterans Bowling League is a Bowling association exclusively for Veterans and run by Veterans. We define a “Veteran” as a male player, aged 60 years or over; players must be members of a Club affiliated to either the N.I.B.A. or the Private Greens League.

Founded in 1946, it has developed and grown into one of the widest-reaching bowling bodies in Ireland, with 66 affiliated clubs drawn from counties Antrim, Armagh, Down and Tyrone. Many clubs enter two or more teams of 8 players.

The teams involved in no fewer than 14 Leagues and 4 major Cup competitions.

Individual members may compete in annual Singles, Pairs, Triples, or Fours Championships. Our Semi-Finals and Finals rank amongst the most spectacular “Festivals of Bowling” in the land.

We have an annual Flag Unfurling at the start of each Season and finish off each year with a “Closing Day” Tournament and Distribution of Awards.

We are always eager to help member clubs to celebrate special anniversaries.

The Veterans’ Bowling League Executive is elected at an Annual General Meeting each November.

The Presidency alternates between Clubs which are affiliated to the N.I.B.A. and the P.G.L.
